Thaitsuki Swords-history

Thaitsuki Forge is owned and run by the Sivarat family who has been making Japanese Katanas for over 400 years. They are descendants of a Samurai family stationed in Thailand in 1590.

The Sivarat family was one of the few that where chosen to forge Japanese Katanas for the Samurai warriors. For the past 400 years they have continued perfecting their skills of forging Japanese swords for private collectors and martial artists throughout Japan.

Thaitsuki katanas

From the perfectly wrapped Ito, to the handmade Kashira, Menuki, Tsuba and Fuchi, each piece is made from skilled craftsmen that specialize and take pride in their art. The Habaki, Menuki, Fuchi and Kashira are handmade from quality silver. The Tsuka is skilkefuly wrapped with only the leather or silk and only genuine Ray skin is used. The Saya is crafted from hard wood then carefully lacquered and the Koiguchi is made from genuine black horn.

Each Japanese Katana comes with it's own individual serial number and certificate from Thaitsuki Nihonto so you can trace it back to when and by whom it was made. Each katana is handmade and the fittings are handcrafted so no katana will be ever be exactly alike. Each katana is it's own, one of a kind, work of art.

Thaitsuki Sanmai katanas

This katana is hand forged and folded Sanmai damascus Japanese steel blade with 1024 layers, this is among the upper echelon of katana for the sword collector. HRC 35-60. Flex up to 25 degrees.
Steel:
Core: T10 Steel.
Body: 1095 Steel 1024 layers.
Edge hardness is HRC 60.
Body hardness is HRC 35.

Thaitsuki Maru katanas

Maru katana is made of single high carbon steel with HRC 45-55. Clay tempered. Flex up to 45 degrees.
Steel:
1095 or D2 Steel.
Edge hardness is HRC 55.
Body hardness is HRC 45.
